I've always argued that Obama underperfomed, especially considering his idealistic view before he became president. His biggeest chance to reset world economics came in the 2008 financial crisis. He bungled that an let business continue as usual.

One theory is that as the first Black president, he had to tread carefully. If he had tried to turn the system upside down, the system would fight back hard and he would probably have ruined the chances of a nother minority individual getting to the White House in a long time. Weird theory but it has some validity
