China has played a very smart game. But I think that the US has woken up to that. The US has realized that China is a strategic competitor. This is why Biden didn't change any of the Trump-era anti-China policies.

However, there is one more reason why the US will always be ahead of China: immigration. China doesn't assimilate foreigners and therefore they miss out on a lot of talents.
